American Sonex Association (ASA) 11th annual American Sonex Association (ASA) gathering 10th and Saturday the 11th of October, 2014, at Crossville Airport in TN – KCSV - Main Hangar.

  • The American Sonex Association (ASA)will be hosting our 11th annual American Sonex Association (ASA) gathering on Friday the 10th and Saturday the 11th of October, 2014, at Crossville Airport in TN – KCSV - Main Hangar.

  • The event will have a soft start on Thursday the 9th, anyone interested in helping to setup the event is more than welcome to come in on the 9th and help us out.
  • Friday the 10th is the official start of the event with a bunch of meeting and greeting going on. It is also the start of familiarization flights for anyone interested in taking a ride in a Sonex or Waiex. For the most part we can usually find you the combination you are interested in, eg. Sonex VW 2180 powered of Jabiru 3300 etc.
  • On Saturday we’ll have of educational forums and lots of cool stuff to see on the ramp.
  • To add we will have catered food throughout the event with the menu posted on the ASA Website (Events Page)
  • On Sunday the 12th we’ll be there to help those who flew in to get home safely.
  • Not all the details are set in stone, but here are some of the line ups.
  • Sonex
  • Jeremy Monnett, if at all possible,plans to fly up a “Turbo Aerovee” to the event. He will be one of the host speakers showing and talking about the new AeroConversions Turbo. I know I want to be there for that one!!!!!!
  • Prince Aircraft Company
  • Lonnie Prince will be talking about correct propeller installation and field repairs that can be safely done by the builder in emergencies. Talk is that Lonnie will be offering a Prince propeller up for raffle again this year......Awesome!!!!
  • Sonex Builders and Pilots Foundation
  • Robbie Culver of the Sonex Builders and Pilots Foundation will be talking Safety.
  • Round Table
  • Round table discussion with breakout sessions talking to current and past Sonex builders about choices they made during their builds.
  • Transponder checks will be provided again this year – you can sign up to have your transponder checked on the Events Page.

  • This year we have Sport pilot flight reviews available. So if you are close to or need a flight review done, please go to the Events Page and sign up for a flight review.
  • Make sure to download and complete the flight review questionnaire. Bring the completed form with you for the CFI to review with you!!!
  • At the Venue we will have easy access from the parking lot for those who drive in, and plenty of ground support (including some transportation to and from motels) for those who fly-in.
  • For those of you who want to rent a car, We have negotiated a rate of $33.89 with Enterprise car rental for the weekend Fri – Sun.
